Alpine/Uplands (Los Trancos)

The Alpine/Uplands section of Portola Valley, also known as Los Trancos, offers seclusion and privacy in a peaceful and serene setting among the treetops. The area is accentuated by its rustic charm and striking views with vistas alternating between rolling grasslands, oak woodland and shaded forests.

This area has something for everybody from the Woods to Vista Verde. The old San Francisco summer retreats are nestled together in the Los Trancos Woods area which tend to be more affordable than other similar properties in Portola Valley. And at the top of the hill is the Vista Verde area characterized by newer construction, large parcels and sweeping views of the mountains, bay and valley below.

The area also borders 3 different open space preserves: Foothills, Los Trancos and Coal Creek. The Los Trancos Open Space Preserve alone has 274 acres with more than 5 miles of hiking in the Santa Cruz mountains.
